Fashion Business & Promotion
(Year 1)

Fashion Business Context

Fashion Business Context was the first ever module I did when starting my degree in Fashion Business. I did a case study into Fred Perry and found out every bit of detail about the brand including how I would take the brand further. Fred Perry was a really interesting brand to study as it has so much history from Fred Perry himself playing tennis all the way to Mods and Subcultures.

Trends Forecasting

Trends Forecasting was a module that consisted of looking at current affairs and current trends within the media and fashion. I chose to look at the feminist movement, but look at how strong women can still wear pink but be assertive and dominant within the industry. I paired light pinks and whites with strong key shapes that show the dominance women have in the industry.

Buying & Merchandising

Buying and Merchandising consisted of us being given a brief from the brand Whistles. We had to design a range and also create a critical path for the range too. I chose to do a denim range for the brand so I could branch out into different clothing products and not just trousers. Creating this range was a lot of fun and also increased my skill in illustrator as I designed my own CADS on their.

Digital Marketing, Branding
& PR

For Digital Marketing, Branding and PR, we had to choose a brand that wasn’t performing as well as it had been in the past. At this point, I chose Mulberry as their stocks had fallen and they had just been taken over by a new Creative Director. I created a research document for Mulberry and identified how the brand can improve. I recognised that the brand don’t advertise their mens range as much as their womens’ range. So i introduced a celebrity endorsement deal with Tom Hiddleston to advertise the brand further.
